Public Space Protection Orders consultation |
As we work closely with the Royal Borough of Greenwich and support them in tackling ASB. They are asking for feedback on how they manage anti-social behaviour in public spaces through its Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs). Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) help manage anti-social behaviour in public spaces by providing the council and police with extra powers to act if someone’s behaviour is causing a problem for other members of the public. These powers include issuing a £100 on-the-spot fine, as well as Community Protection Warnings, Community Protection Notices and targeted patrols in hotspot areas. The orders cover behaviour including using foul or abusive language or threatening or intimidating behaviour, using drugs, riding scooters on the pavement, aggressive or persistent begging and making comments of a sexual or gender-based nature. Find out more about our current PSPOs. The current PSPOs expire on 31 October 2026, and they would like to know whether members of the public think the current behaviours covered in the PSPOs continue to be a problem and whether they support renewing them. They also want to hear about residents’ personal experiences and suggestions on how they could address anti-social behaviour more effectively. This feedback will help them understand local concerns and help them decide what the renewed PSPOs will look like. Working together, take part in the consultation and tell them how you feel by completing the survey. The consultation is open until 22 July 2026, follow this link to take part: Public Spaces Protection Orders 2026 | Community safety and licensing | Community Conversations Greenwich
If you have any further questions or would like help completing the survey, please contact the council directly via the following email address: PSPO-consultation@royalgreenwich.gov.uk
